The Bonner house in Bath

The Bonner house in Bath, North Carolina's oldest town, was built in the 1830s in what was then the latest architectural style.

I read here: "The house retains many of its original features, including the small blown-glass window panes; wide-board pine floors; and delicate hand-carved mantels. Decorative paint treatments of the period — such as wood graining on interior doors and 'marbelizing' on baseboards — are evident throughout the house."

By the time you read this, I should be in North Carolina... physically, not just in my mind.

    1. I did, Sue, except the seats are so close together that it's hard to be comfortable and even harder to extract yourself from a window seat, which is what I had. I always enjoy watching films and American TV series during the 9½ hour flight, because the newer films and series haven't come out in France yet.

    1. I've been at my mother's place for 12 hours now. It is very muggy and almost hot outside.

  4. Blogger is either racist or xenophobic, or both, since it refuses opiniâtrement (stubornly) to recognize user names and passwords when I am in France and suddenly remembers everything the minute I set foot on the US soil! So frustrating!

I’m off and on to bed trying to reset the clock right. Here in Northern Virginia, as I said on the blog yesterday, it is hot and muggy. I love the hot but I hate the muggy.

Good luck with what you have to do. My best to MA.
