Don't you hate it when you get up the next morning and realize that you forgot to put one of the main ingredients in the recipe you made for yesterday's dinner? That happened to me this morning. I forgot to put the green beans in our paella, and they were beans we had grown in last summer's garden. I remembered the green peas, the chorizo, the artichoke hearts, the peppers, and the tomato though. Since I posted a recipe yesterday, I'll just post pictures today, in chronological order.
Happy New Year et Bonne Année to you.
Bonne annèe à toi!
ReplyDeleteMarci, CHM. Tous mes bons vœux.
DeleteHappy New Year to you and Walt!
ReplyDeleteAnd to everyone reading.
Thank you BettyAnn, same to you.
DeleteHappy New Year! A recipe is a suggestion for you to interpret, looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you too. I certainly agree with your comment.
DeleteWow, that looks fabulous! And, yes, I’ve done that, too.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year!

Happy New Year to all! Wish I could be at your table, that looks tasty! That salmon, that sausage, that rice, Ha! About half the restaurants and bars are closed here, for various reasons, from Covid to supplies. We hunkered down at home.
ReplyDeleteFor the first time ever, on this first of January in Virginia, I had blackeyed peas for lunch. Of course, the institutional cooking is not a five star one, so I really don’t know what the fuss is all about. Your blackeyed peas, Ken, are certainly something else, but right now, I’m not impressed. I wish I still could cook red kidney beans with Polish sausage and red wine.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to all.
Hi chm, they probably left out the bacon, onion and cilantro that flavor them up. And the jalapeno. But now that you've had some, tradition says you'll have good luck this year.
DeleteThose black eyed peas will bring you luck, but that Polish sausage with red wine sounds delicious. Wishing Ken, Walt, and all of your faithful friends a Happy New Year!
DeleteE., Hariocots rouges au vin rouge are a classic French way to enjoy kidney beans. The beans are cooked in a mixture of red wine and water (or broth) with herbs, smoked or salted pork, or sausages. The beans are really good that way.
DeleteBonne année to all. Paella sounds like an excellent way to start the year.
