Hot weather has come back, and long range predictions are for a hot summer here in France. We'll see.
Meanwhile, it's rose season here in Saint-Aignan. I've enjoyed photographing flowers over the past few weeks.
One reason I've enjoyed it is that I'm still trying to learn how to use the camera I took these with.
Some of these roses are in a neighbor's yard. The house sits unoccupied most of the time. The owner lives in the Paris area.
I'm glad to be able to post these photos, because we are having unusual problems with our internet connection. One minute it works, the next minute it doesn't. Whatever the phone company is doing to our DSL signal seems to have disabled the modem/router that we normally use. Luckily, I have an old router that seems to work a little better, but even with that one the signal comes and goes.
Hope your connection will be back to normal very soon. I know how frustrating it is to be without internet ; it is like being kept in the dark!
ReplyDeleteIt's strange that something is disabling the wifi function in the router. That's never happened before, and when it does our network is invisible to computers and tablets. I've been using the same router for several years now. I'm glad I kept the old one, which is working fine.
ReplyDeleteOur interweb is acommin and agoin at the moment, too.... and we can't even watch a short U-bend video.... just spinning grey balls!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had Smell O Vision ... those roses look gorgeous and I bet they smell wonderful too.
ReplyDeletegood luck with the computer connection.
Try disconnecting the computer from the cable/router ... give it a rest... reconnect it later today .. maybe that will help.
I do things like that now and then, not so often now that I am here .. and it works every time. no idea why.
Hi Ken,
ReplyDeleteI have just checked with Ludovic who runs the Les Cochards campsite down at Seigy and he is happy for us to have visitors and for you to bring Tasha.
So that looks good and it will be lovely to meet you both after 2 years of reading your blog every day. And of course, Tasha too.
We have put it in the diary to contact you on Monday 26th June after your visitors have left, to arrange when we can get together if that is good with you?
I tried to post this message yesterday but got technologically challenged and am not sure where I posted it so here it is again with apologies!
Cheers, Sue and Dave
Beautiful pictures! And while it's definitely not rose season yet here in Maine, it is rosé season.
ReplyDeleteI just came across a highly amusing description over life in Sennely in the seventeenth century. That is not far from you. Have you ever been there? Do you have pictures?
ReplyDeleteI've probably driven through Sennely (pop. 625 or so) but I don't have any pictures. I do have photos of nearby towns including La Ferté-Saint-Aubin.
DeleteYour photos are beautiful. I love roses and I have yet to ever see an ugly photo or picture of a rose! I took a lovely photo of a rose yesterday morning with raindrops still on it. Sometimes I surprise myself! I am on a never ending battle with deer these days! My roses, lilies, & hydrangea have become a favorite deer snack! I guess they are a little like us humans and like a few delicacies too!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the deer. They are a problem in many areas. We have a lot of deer here, but our yard is fenced in and dogs live in it, so the deer stay away.
DeleteThank you so much for the link!
