I may have mentioned that I seem to have far too many close-up photos of flowers in my archives. Especially for the years from 2004 until 2010. Today I'm sharing a few more of them.
P.S. Yesterday I had the timing belt on my Citroën C4 automobile replaced. The last replacement was 8½ years ago, in 2015, when I bought the car. The manufacturer recommends replacing the belt every 10 years or 100,000 kilometers — whichever comes first. I've only put about 20,000 kilometers on the car since I bought it, but I will feel a lot better about driving it at high speeds and for long distances now. That's because if the belt breaks the engine usually ends up irreparably damaged. My mechanic gave me an estimate of 660€ for the job, but ended up charging me only 575€, because some of the parts replaced were less expensive than he had thought. Walt and I do intend to start traveling and staying in gîtes in different parts of France again later this year...
You can never have too many pictures of flowers, close up or otherwise. So happy to hear that you are planning some trips this year, it’s time. We are anchored off the Dingle coast of Ireland this morning, so beautiful!

Tasha loves riding in the car. She barks — no, screeches — at every oncoming car she sees.
DeleteThe St. John's wort‘s flower (#3) makes me think of that of the Opuntia Humifusa (Eastern prickly pear).

This summer we have to pick a destination from among the three or four we've been thinking about for the last three years, and then find a gîte that will let us stay with Tasha. I'm wondering if Jane and her husband are still gìte hosts.

ReplyDeleteThey were good, weren't they? The dairy farm in the Cantal where we watched the staff make Cantal cheese. And the horse show at the Haras du Pin in the Perche (thanks to Marie for that one).
