I was thinking about going to Romo today. Romo is short for Romorantin-Lanthenay, the closest town of any size (pop. about 20,000) near Saint-Aignan. It's a 30-minute drive. Inertia has kicked in and I don't think I'll go after all. Yesterday I found some photos of the town from a few years back. Here's one. A river runs through Romo. All roads lead to Romo, that's my joke. But not today.
Ken, yes, Jane and Peter are definitely still gîte hosts! I don't remember the name of their town, but they are definitely still doing that.
ReplyDeleteKen, it's La Boissonnie, in Champagnac-la-rivière. I don't actually know if La Boissonnie is the name of the village, hamlet, town, or just their property --ha! I found this online with her name on it... but, this is a chambre d'hôte, so it must just be one of their offerings, because I'm sure they have one or two gîte cottages. here's another listing for them

ReplyDeleteSince Thursday was a holiday, and many people take off the Friday following a no-work Thursday, I was afraid some of the stores and businesses where I wanted to shop might be closed. I'll go over to Romo this coming week.
