May skies and colors at La Renaudière

Nineteen years ago today we were enjoying all this. The best summers we've had here, meteorologically speaking, were 2004, 2005, and 2006. Last summer we suffered through a severe drought. It is ongoing. We're getting ready to plant our 2023 vegetable garden, but we will need rain for it to be successful. We've had rain this spring, but not nearly enough. The weather woman on Télématin is predicting that next week will be rainy. I hope she's right.

    1. You are in England, right? According to French weather forecasters, England is sending us rain next week.

  2. I was just thinking, as I was driving to work in the early morning sunshine, what a nice month May can be... buds, blooms, blossoms, gentle temperatures, sun in the morning and the evening... and, the last month of the school year :)

  4. Aren’t those rose columbines actually roses? The almost black columbines are ancolies in French, whether wild or cultivated.
