Fleurs et insectes

As I've said, since 2004 most of the photos I've taken in the month of May feature flowers. When I started to put this post together, I thought there were insects on three of the flowers in these photos from May 2006. Now I realize that there is at least one insect in each photo. Look closely and you'll see them.

  5. The most conspicuous of these insects is the first one on what I believe is an Oenothera flower. There is a minuscule one on that gorgeous rose. On the same flower, do I see a spider sitting in a fold of a petal? Are sweet williams the same as Dianthus?
I had a hard time in finding the insect in the last photo and can’t ID that flower!

  6. Yes, CHM. Dianthus are commonly called Sweet William.
