Weather and landscaping

As long ago as last Tuesday or Wednesday and ever since, Météo France started predicting that a big windy rainstorm was going to blow in off the Atlantic and sweep across the country last night and this morning. Well, we did get a little bit of rain last night, but it was nothing to get excited about. I'm convinced that Météo France exaggerates its predictions to make sure it doesn't get caught short if the weather really does turn bad. It's hard to know. Maybe the weather was a lot worse just west of us, along the coast, or farther east of us, toward the Alps.

This was our sunrise Friday morning, in a photo I took from the front deck.

In the latest communication we've had from the owner/operator of the landscaping service that prunes our hedges, takes down dead trees (we have four right now) and digs up dead shrubs (we have half a dozen dead hazelnut bushes and one giant juniper that all need to be disposed of) he told us the work should commence tomorrow. We will be very interested to see if anybody shows up, and thrilled it anybody does. The work was originally scheduled for last December. A lot of other projects we have are on hold until the landscaping work is done. This year's very rainy weather and the pandemic have slowed everything down.

    2. The vigilance orange was for the département de la Loire-Atlantique, 150 miles from here at the mouth of the Loire.

    3. Do you think it is as good or better than the Lumix TZ3?

    4. It's hard to say, overall. I like the Sony a lot. I wish I still had the Lumis TZ3.

  3. Great picture, wonderful cloudscape. It would make a great painting. Why so many dead trees/shrubs, drought conditions?
