Fleurs de juin

We really don't seem to be having a summer this year. Today, for example, Accuweather and MétéoFrance are predicting a high temperature of 18ºC for Saint-Aignan. That's 64ºF. And MétéoCiel says the high will be 61ºF (16ºC). With scattered showers. On August 3! Everybody here is complaining about the weather. Enjoy these photos of flowers.

  1. The flowers are probably happy with your cool damp summer. Our high is 84 today, about ten degrees below normal. Well, maybe normal is gone now? The pandemic definitely makes normal feel far away.

    1. It's chilly here, as predicted. The outdoor thermometer says 16.8, which is about 62. And it's been raining for a couple of hours. Tomorrow the rain is supposed to be constant, all day. The good news is that we got another big harvest of green beans out of the garden yesterday, and three or four tomatoes today. And that I had blood tests last week and saw my doctor yesterday. Everything is fine, he said. No worries.

    4. My doctor hadn't sent me to the lab for a prise de sang in several years, so I was glad to get the bloodwork done again. Most of my numbers were good, but one or two were a little high. I asked the doctor if I needed to worry or change my diet in any way, and he said no. Je ne vois rien de méchant in you lab results, he told me. My main health problem for the time being has to do with my pollen allergies, which seem to be getting worse.

  2. A good report from your doctor is certainly good news. I’m sending you both warm, dry hugs.

    1. Thanks. All the windows and door are closed. Wool and fleece blankets on the bed. Long-sleeved shirts, jeans not shorts, and fleece jackets on the walks with Tasha. It's not raining yet this morning, but the forecast says it will rain starting about 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. today. Temperature, 68F.
