Water views, activities, and reflections at Bellegarde

Bellegarde is the name of a town and a château located 100 kilometers (60 miles) south of Paris
and about half way between Orléans and Fontainebleau.

  1. Beautiful water. I like the photo of the guy weeding the wall; what a job.

  2. Beautiful photos, Ken!

Don’t ask me how I ended up here today… It started with seeing Simone’s post on fb about her birthday, but the pertinent point is that I ended up here!

I hope you and Walt are doing well and are staying safe & healthy! How many years have you been in France now? You’re almost natives by this time, huh? How have you two been keeping yourselves busy?

I should tell you about the new addition to my family. You may not have heard this, but Chuck passed away from a heart attack at the end of March. I’m still trying to cope with that devastating loss, but there is a tiny piece of good news: Chuck had adopted a rescue dog when he moved from Fort Lauderdale to Palm Springs at the end of 2019. He & I talked a lot about this in our regular chats, and I had kinda “met” Tomás on FaceTime.

Since he needed a new home and I needed a grief partner, I decided to bring Tomás back to San Francisco when I was down at the beginning of April trying to tie up the loose ends of Chuck’s estate. I am now the proud guardian of a sweet, 3-year-old Bichon-Poo. Check out my fb profile if you want to see photos.

A better channel for this might have been an email (and I hope your blog followers don’t mind), but I did notice that you wrote this post earlier today (Monday, 8/30), so I figured you’d be more likely to see this here than buried in your inbox.

Much love to both you and Walt! Please give him a big hug for me!!

(BTW, the contact info you have for me should still be correct. Nothing’s changed.)
