Here are a few pictures I took on our second trip of the year in 2006. We had been in Paris for a week in late March and early April, staying in a rented apartment. This time we rented a gîte rural, a small house rented out short-term, to stay in for four nights. You'll probably recognize the area. I won't tell you the names of the châteaux...
It doesn't look like all the chateaux are in the same area. The only one I recognize is # 4.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure about # 2, but now I got it confirmed. They might be in the same area, after all.
DeleteThe # 5 looks familiar, but I can't put a name on it.
DeleteThe chateaux # 2 and # 5 have the same name, except # 2 has a D at the end.
DeleteIt's amazing how rich is France in chateaux of all kinds and sizes and styles!
DeleteThey’re all in a beautiful area. That’s as close as I can get.
ReplyDeleteHa! Aucune idée, moi :) But, I like!
ReplyDeleteBurgundy? Several of them look like chateaux in Burgundy that I've seen. But then again, I've seen similar chateaux in other parts of France.
ReplyDeleteGuessing Dordogne, especially the second one.
ReplyDeleteThat would probably be my second guess, although I've gone through all my photos of Dordogne chateaux and didn't get a definite match for any. But the same thing happened with Burgundy.
DeleteChateau # 2 is Castelnaud. # 4 is Chateau de Monfort and # 5 is Chateau de Castelnau-Bretenoux. I have no clue as what 1,3 and 6 are.
DeleteThank you chm. I went back and found my picture of Castelnaud. I didn't find it the first time around because it was from a different angle.
DeleteNow that you changed photo # 4, it is no longer chateau de Montfort.
