Le cheval noir et l'homme à la veste rouge

One of the most interesting and longest segments in the spectacle équestre we saw in August 2011 at the Haras du Pin, in Normandy, featured the horse and the red-coated man you see in this slideshow. It's a demonstration of what is called dressage.

  1. Ws the man doing a commentary on the schooling exercises? It looks as if he's wearing a microphone.

    1. Actually, I don't remember. If we ever get to go back for another show, I'll take movies.

    1. For some reason I can't figure out, the slideshow software is cropping my photos, top and bottom. It's annoying.

  3. There must have been commentary for the commands. This part was extraordinary!

  4. It's a wonderful show. If I remember, it's only one day a week they do it. There's great commentary -- a bit of history, the characteristics of each kind of horse and pony, and what exercise we are seeing.
