Here I am in North Carolina. It only took me 36 hours to get here! That was three planes, two 45-minute drives, two 45-minute walks, and a 1-hour and a 2-hour train ride. Not to mention interminable waiting around in airports. If I had felt better, it wouldn't have been so tiring. I think it was something I ate that put me out of sorts.
I'll be blogging again soon, I think. But right now I'm too jet-lagged.
I'm glad you made it. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteIt's garbage day here. See what you're missing?
Just like Walter, I'm glad you made it "sain et sauf". It sure is a long trip. Now, just rest, relax and get better.
ReplyDeleteGive my best to your Mom.
Welcome back to the U.S.! Whew, what a long trip. I hope you have a lovely visit :)

p.s. The Jambalaya looked woooonderful! Take pictures of the N.C. food ;))
Slept like a log for 6 or 7 hours last night. Can't beat that and I'm feeling a lot better today. It's chilly but sunny here.
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it! Have a great time with your family.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time! Good food a'comin'.
ReplyDeleteHave a great visit. You still seem far away, but at least we're in the same country for a bit. Enjoy your visit with your family.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, customs in Philadelphia didn't inspect my bags so I was able to get through with my smelly goat cheese, my gallon bag of bay leaves off the tree in our back yard, and the 12 jars of Dijon mustard... I was happy, and so are the people who asked for these items.
ReplyDeleteRe: customs
ReplyDeleteI think the cheese is the only thing that might cause you a problem. As for the bay leaves, I declared them last trip, and they were examined by an agricultural inspector who could not have been nicer--no officiousness at all. Plus he let me keep them.
It's easier not to do it at all though. :-)
Those bay leaves are the best! Glad you got your cheese in, too. Soak up that sunshine and rest up.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're safely in Carolina!
It is no fun travelling these days. Perhaps a few days with some good North Carolina food will fix you up. Regards to your mother.
