There is some differentiation among American Robins across the continent, but they all look fairly much the same.
The American Robin is a type of thrush; The European Robin is related to the wren. In the movie "Mary Poppins" Mary sings to a robin, but it's an American Robin. Almost as annoying as Dick Van Dyke's false cockney.
Saw my first pair yesterday. They look so healthy this time of year compared to the end of summer. Raising their babies and scrounging for food every minute of everyday really takes it out of them.
Haven't see one of those in a long time!
ReplyDeleteactually, that doesn't look much like the robin i was used to seeing in the bay area, either. is it the same species?
