I grew up in a small town, but it was about 5 times as big as Mennetou. When I was in high school I couldn't wait to get out of there. Not that I hated it, I just wanted to see more of the country. I ended up living in Durham NC, and then Champaign-Urbana IL, Aix-en-Provence, Rouen, Paris, Washington DC, San Francisco, and now Saint-Aignan.
It's hard to find a good dentist here, especially one who does good cleanings. Our local dentist relocated his practice and residence to the city of Lyon. a year or two ago. He is missed, because he was a very good dentist.
I wonder what it would be like growing up in, and always living in, a town like that?
