I took these pictures on a beautiful June day in 2008. Charles-Henry and I were shopping at the Friday morning market in Montrichard, 10 miles downriver from Saint-Aignan.
It is true that prices have just soared over the past five years, what with Covid and many other factors. The good news is that the U.S. dollar is more than holding its own against the euro.
We've been enjoying radishes for a few weeks now. They are one product that is not expensive, and they are so good with French butter and a little salt.
Beautiful, just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'll take the melon for sure.
ReplyDeleteThose tomatoes! And the prices are so reasonable!
ReplyDeleteThose are 2008 prices. ;)
