Millepertuis

The millepertuis plants that grow along the fence on the south side of hour house and along the road are blooming right now. Here are some macro shots of the flowers. That's all I have for today. The plant is called St. John's wort in English. Some species are called goatweed. It's an invasive plant, but a beautiful one at this time of year.

I had planned to go to the supermarket yesterday for the first time since March 14.
I changed my mind after I thought about it for a few minutes yesterday morning.
There really wasn't anything we especially needed.
So I'm still staying confined. Self-isolating.

  1. Really very beautiful. I like these photos. I am also not planning to stop self-isolating.
Isn't St. John's Wort supposed to be good for depression?

  2. We made the mistake of planting one in a garden bed and now it's taken over half the bed...it is beautiful but has now loomed over everything else.

    1. The millepertuis definitely does take over where it can. We are cutting it back all the time.

  3. I would like seeing that flower in person. Lewis is staying home also. I go in stores rarely. When I go I wear a mask and sanitize my hands right after, then I wash my hands when I get home.

    1. Same with me, except the only stores I've seen the inside of since mid-March are the pharmacy and the bread bakery.

  5. We're also staying home as much as we can, it seems it's our age group who feel we have the most to lose (our lives). A few groceries are not worth that.
