En attendant tomates

One day our tomatoes will come. Well, actually, they're out there, but they're not ripe yet. These next few hot and sunny days should do the trick.

We have basil. We have olive oil. We have balsamic vinegar. All we need is ripe garden tomatoes.

This what happens when weather delays the planting of the garden by a month. You end up spending the whole summer anticipating.
Check back in a week. Maybe my photos will have some red blotches on them to break up all this green.

  1. Our's are just beginning to yellow....Pauline's thinking of hanging some ripe bananas out there....
    I walked along the rows showing them a ripe tomato....just giving them a hint, so to speak!

    1. Somebody once said that the way to make the tomatoes "red-faced" is to tell them some dirty jokes.

    1. I don't really know, D. I think we have beefsteaks, coeur de boeuf, and fireball tomatoes growing this year, plus some yellow tomatoes.

  4. May I send you some . This year we are well ahead as far as tomatoes and peppers ( the deadly ones) are concerned. We are unlucky with our poivrons - the flowers did not produce fruits.

    1. Good for you for the chili peppers and tomatoes. We have some poivrons and some aubergines but they are far from ripe.
