Noticed details in Paris

I guess there's nothing I like better than wandering the streets of Paris and taking pictures
of interesting details I notice. Here are five examples.

Somebody's cat in a window, watching people walk by

A lion's head door decoration

The lion is also the mascot of the Peugeot car company

The emblem of the city of Paris on a metro bridge

Graffiti on a letterbox

  1. Nice details. you have an eye fot them.

if you magnify the 4th photo, the motto (devise), Fluctuat nec mergitur, She floats but do not sink, can be read above the fleurs de lis on the emblem of the city of Paris. The city was also awarded the Legion of honor. That photo might have been taken next to my place.

    1. Sorry for the typos and grammatical errors.

    2. It's not easy to "type" on a small tablet. The "keys" on the virtual keyboard are just too small, at least for my fingers.

That photo of the Paris emblem was taken near your place. The idea between the slogan fluctuat nec mergitur is that Paris is tossed around by the waves like a sailing ship in a storm, but the city stays afloat and doesn't go under. We'll always have Paris, in other words!

  2. I've enjoyed these photos and all of the Paris postings. The cat's eyes match the paint on the walls. The pandemic here is going out with a big surge- let's hope we all keep afloat and don't sink like this Paris emblem.
