I went out with Callie the collie yesterday morning and took a lot of springtime pictures. It was pretty cold out there, and sopping wet. Later in the day, it rained hard. There was a shower of sleet, which means a lot of ice pellets along with the rain. And it's cold this morning too — around 5ºC / 40ºF — but sunny. I'll take it.
See if you can recognize all these flowers that are blooming right now near Saint-Aignan.
Scotch broom [genêt], wild rose [églantier], bluebell [campanule], vine [vigne] and peony [pivoine].
ReplyDeleteYou win the prize, CHM: a week's room and board in a charming abode on edge of the Touraine vineyards at Saint-Aignan!
ReplyDeleteKen, LOL
ReplyDeleteO.K. I'll take it.
I like the Dog Rose picture the best...
ReplyDeletewell done Ken on getting good pictures on a foul day!!
The flowers look like they don't mind more rain and the sunshine must have been helpful for the photographer.
ReplyDeleteOur weather is finally just right, hoping it moves along your way, so that your garden will prosper.
Those are lovely photos of happy blooms, enjoying the wet. I think. :)
ReplyDeleteJe n'en reviens pas de cette églantine. Chez moi, elles sont loin d'être en fleur...
ReplyDeleteWell done, CHM. Scotch broom is everywhere in Oregon and I didn't even recognize it!
ReplyDeleteMary, Scotch broom is very invasive. I'm convinced that I'm allergic to its pollen. I hate to see it invading our environment but it is pretty in springtime.
I recognized the rose and the grapes, but that was it. I assume the Scotch Broom is the yellow flower?
ReplyDeleteYes, Starman, the broom flower is the yellow one.
