Painting

About three weeks ago, I posted about painting our living room in 2005. We started the job in March and finished in April. These are some pictures of the work in progress. By mid-April, we had finished sanding the walls and I think Walt had painted the ceiling. It took four coats, but it hadn't needed to be sanded. The room is about 400 sq. ft.

That's Walt on the step ladder. More tomorrow...

  1. I didn’t know Walt was left-handed.
What is that brownish line on the wall next to the ceiling and around doors and windows? A special apprêt?
To find about that brown line, I went back several years of your posts. I didn’t find anything about that line, but I found three lovely August 2015 photos of Monsieur Bertie sleeping in the couch. Sweet cat!

    1. chm, are you maybe referring to the cutting-in hand painting with a brush that Walt looks to be completing here... before rolling on the rest of the paint?

    2. That's right, Judy. Walt "cut in" the edges of the walls using some of the paint and a paint brush. He also painted the corners of the room where a paint roller wouldn't reach. Then it was easy to roll the paint onto the rest of the wall.

    3. I still don’t know what this brownish line around windows and doors is.

    2. Thank you. I painted the bottom half as high as I could reach and my friend did the upper half on a ladder. He is 81 years old.
