Quelques étiquettes

Here's some reading material in French. Champagne labels...

Blanc de blancs, ou bien blanc de noirs ?

Peut-être un champagne fait avec les jus assemblés de différents cépages...

C'est vous qui voyez !

  1. Interesting...I'd no idea that labels is etiquettes. Which means something else in English, so that's what they call a language false friend?

    1. Hi D. Well, it is not, because the French word étiquette has also the same meaning in French as in English. LOL Look at CNRTL

  2. Ha! Diogenes, I hadn't thought about the faux ami connection with etiquette... I wonder why on Earth we use that word in English for the reason that we do.

Ken, I love these labels. And... a Grand Cru, eh? Special occasion, that bottle?

    1. All the grapes grown on the territory of Bouzy are classified as Grand Cru, as are the wines made with them. The next step down is Premier Cru.

  4. We buy that Montaudon champagne often in the supermarkets here in Saint-Aignan. It's one of the least expensive champagnes at between, say 14 and 18 euros a bottle.
