This morning I've just been looking at old pictures and re-processing them. Enjoying them. I'm not going to tell you
what town this is. I do know, however, thanks especially to one picture of a sign with the town's name on it.
I'm not posting that one.

I'm not posting that one.
For me, it is no longer a mystery. The eagle gave it away!
ReplyDeleteLe chateau de Touffou est à vendre pour sept millions d'euros. Si ça te tente...
DeleteThat bird is not an eagle but a vulture. There are eagles too there.
DeleteI'm going to guess Montrichard, though I have zero basis for guessing that LOL.
ReplyDeleteMontrichard is a good guess because of the ruined keeep, but this ruin is much more extensive and south of Saint-Aignan.
DeleteDarn! LOL I've got zero idea.
DeleteKen will let you know what this town is and why the vulture was THE clue for me. I checked my guess on the Net and I was right on. See my other comments. You may find a clue!
DeleteGreat bird image. My Mac scrolls through my photo archive as a screen saver, out of context, I have no idea where 10% of the photos where taken. I sometime take a picture of a local sign, so years later I can identify the location.
ReplyDelete"I sometime take a picture of a local sign" I often do that in France, especially if it's a small town that we only spend a short time in.
DeleteHere, I am at an advantage because I went there with Ken. Without the vulture, I'd never had known, there are so many ruins like this in France. It could have been Angles-sur-l'Anglin, also an extensive ruin.
ReplyDeleteBut I think only this one with the big birds of prey!
DeleteThe show is really amazing, innit?
DeleteTim, here is a link you might be interested in about birds of prey shows,

Merci.... interesting!!
DeleteI love the buzzard! The first photo looks familiar, but now I think it's a place I've not seen....yet!
ReplyDeleteVautour...still I have no idea where this is. It's next to a river. Initially I thought St. Paul du Vence, but way too far south...Could it be Bellac?
ReplyDeleteNo, it is not Bellac but not too far from it. "Vautours" and eagles and other birds of prey can be seen there. I'm sure Ken will explain.
DeleteWaiting with bated breath!
ReplyDeleteOne of the marvelous things I love about your blog posts, Ken, is that you show us places that I have often never come across in my travel search for interesting places to visit but after I read your post, I want to visit there! I knew I hadn't been or heard of this place, but that is probably because I missed that day's posting! There is so much to see and somehow I want to see as much as I can!
ReplyDeleteWherever it is, those are very nice garden allotments down by the river.
ReplyDeleteThe name of the town with the old medieval center perched on a big promontory is Chauvigny.
