Blogger has been giving me fits this morning. At first, it wouldn't let me sign on at all. And after I figured out how to sign on, it wouldn't let me upload any photos. I had nearly given up, but thought I'd try one more time.

It's about cooking tomatoes...

So this is just a preview of what I had planned to post today, and will now post tomorrow, if I can.

  1. I know what you mean; I'm fighting with my new computer! Hope it will be smooth and easy for you tomorrow.

  2. CHM, is that a new Mac?
    I thought they were trouble-
    free!

  3. Sheila: Yes it is a new [improved! LOL] MacBook Pro. My problem is that my old applications are not "supported." That means I have to either download the free ones with a dial-up connection [!!] or buy new ones. There is no free lunch!

It's too early to tell. Probably I'll get used to it. Fortunately the old one is still working fine.

  4. Those tomatoes look lovely - I gather planting a bit late in the season works wonders .

  5. Ken - So this time you did buy an Apple computer? I understood that you didn't have one. I am still limping along with my old HP with Vista and anxious to replace it.

From the photos, the tomatoes did get enough good weather to thrive!
    They look luscious!

  6. chm, could you go to an Internet cafe for DSL? Why don't you get DSL sometime?

I'm getting a computer like yours next week- will sell this MacBook Air since I need more ram than it has. It's an early birthday gift for me.

  7. RYN: Yes! Hotels are prohibitively expensive. We did finally find a reasonable apartment for the week (if we ever hear back from the owner).

  8. Blogger is a real pain in the ass sometimes. Especially with that stupid word verification thing!!!

  9. Evelyn, yes, I've thought of that. Here, in Northern Virginia, there is a Starbucks place where I could go. But, it's too close to call a cab and too far for a "carless" eighty years old man to walk with his laptop under his arm. It seems DSL is not available in my neighborhood [you can't stop progress!] and I'm not interested in an expensive FIOS bundle. I don't want TV and I'm satisfied with the telephone I got. So I'll make do with dial-up!LOL

  11. Hi Ken, Blogger was OK yesterday, but this morning I seem to have lost the 'sign in' toolbar at the top of the page. Did you have the same problem and how did you solve it? Thanks in advance! Have a nice day. Martine

  12. Mary, I use a PC (or two -- a desktop and a laptop) with Windows 7. It's CHM who has a Mac. I had a Mac once, many years ago, but I've stuck with Windows PCs since about 1995.

CHM, I'm still convinced that you can find a DSL provider if you really try. Not Verizon, but another. Wouldn't it make you life much more pleasant?

  13. Martine, my problem turned out to be that the shortcut (bookmark) I was using to get to Blogger was sending me to www2.blogger.com. When I changed the shortcut target to www.blogger.com (without the 2), it connected just fine. I still couldn't upload photos for a while, but now it seems to be working normally. Bon courage.
