Courges à Chenonceau

Besides flowers, another colorful crop being grown by the gardeners at Chenonceau back in Sept. 2011 was winter squashes (courges). I took pictures of those too. I was using a Panasonic Lumix ZS1 digital camera. I still have that camera and use it once in a while.

There's a lot to do and see at Chenonceau on a nice sunny day.

  2. There was so much to see in the gardens. I don't think I've ever seen such a crooked squash as the one on the top right.

One has to admit that the french do love their vegetables! So many choices on their menus and such variety in the preparation. Americans - we need to up our game in restaurants, imo. Fries with that - ma'am? !!! When I ask for a substitution, there is usually a pause, and then they agree to sub in coleslaw or something like that! Who would have guessed the garden at Chenonceau would have squash varieties growing? Very colorful!

I am referring to being in a restaurant and ordering a dinner - not a hamburger joint!
