Toutes les bonnes choses... *

I'll most likely be returning to Montpoupon next week, weather permitting. We have visitors coming from the U.S.
(for the first time in two years). We will be visiting not just Montpoupon, but also Chambord, Blois, Chaumont,
Amboise, Vouvray, Valençay, and Saint-Aignan — weather permitting.

This is a composite image — two photos stitched together — that offers a panoramic view
of the château de Montpoupon and the surrounding countryside.

I grabbed this aerial view of Montpouon off Google Maps. The corps de logis (the main building) is on the left.
The Renaissance-era châtelet d'entrée (the main gate) is right on the edge of the road.
On the right are buildings that house the hunting museum and a wine cellar.

* (Toutes les bonnes choses...) ont une fin.

  1. Aerial photos are always interesting because you can see how buildings relate to one another.
    I like the stitched photo[s].

  2. Exciting that you'll be having visitors!

  3. “Oh, the places you will go!” So happy you will have visitors soon.

  4. Maybe you'll go to Fougères-sur-Bièvre, Chémery and Cheverny and the Hôtel des Trois Marchands? I wonder if it's still good?

    1. I don't know whether or not we'll be allowed to eat indoors at restaurants.

  5. Visitors! What good news, for both you and them. Have a lovely time.

  6. Looking forward to seeing your photos of those chateaux! Ahh Cheverny, that's a beautiful chateau with all the floppy eared hunting hounds that are in a pen on the grounds.

  7. You will be totally prepared to be an excellent tour guide! New adventures with previous (notice I didn't use that damn 3-letter word!) friends! Sounds exhilarating! Enjoy!

Love the color of that Cosmos!

  8. What means this "visitors"?? :-)

How exciting, for them and for you. Is France now open to US residents -- it's so hard to keep track of the ins and outs. I hope you have splendid weather and grand visits.

    1. Our visitor is Evelyn, frequent commenter here, and a friend of hers. They'll tell me what the procedure is to get from the U.S. to France, once they've done it.

What's on your mind? Qu'avez-vous à me dire ?
