Signs, signs, everywhere a sign

I'm getting down to random photos again. Here are some metal signs and other
metal fixtures I took pictures of around the grounds of the château de Montpoupon.

À table !

Keep off the grass!

Let there be light

  1. France has some beautiful ironwork.
"Keep of the grass" signs are rare around here (California).

    1. I don't remember ever seeing such a sign in California. But they used to be all over the place in Paris and elsewhere in France.

    2. It's because we don't have much grass anymore. The drought...

  2. The English-speaking bad dog is my favorite! Most of those signs are artistic.

  3. Got your title reference: "Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind...Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?" Brings back memories!

    1. I just looked up who it was who recorded that song. A Canadian group... in 1971.

  4. Surely, without any visible punctuation.... the first sign actually means "Don't mow!"

    1. I'm lost, Tim. Are you talking about PELOUSE INTERDITE? It means keep off the grass. Mowing has nothing to do with it. What am I missing?

    2. I am lost too. The first sign is À l'auberge du château, No grass, no lawn, no punctuation!,

  5. There are several of the doggie markers in my neighborhood. One neighbor painted her marker white. I also see five gay pride signs on my daily walks. And now Juneteenth is a federal holiday, surely our worst days are behind us.
