The flight from CDG was smooth and pleasant, and the plane was not nearly full, so it was comfortable. We landed at Raleigh-Durham airport an hour and 10 minutes ahead of schedule.
I had an easy 3½-hour drive down to the coast, but I didn't stop to take any photos. I just wanted to get home as fast as I could.
Welcome to the US. Welcome home. Glad everything went smoothly. Best regards to MA.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back .. enjoy your visit . I bet you will enjoy the sound of Southern English :)
ReplyDeleteI say that because I remember how charming and at home I felt when we came back to the US and I heard Southerners again ..
DeleteI agree about the Southern English. On the plane I sat next to (but with an empty seat between us) a "young" woman (she mentioned having grandchildren) who grew up and lives in Raleigh. I really enjoyed her way of speaking and her good conversation.
DeleteWell done...May you time in the US be satisfying and successful. How excellent that you were not changing planes in New York!
ReplyDeleteOr changing planes anywhere else!
DeleteGlad you are there safely!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy...
Glad you had a good flight with the bonus of empty seats.
ReplyDeleteJet lag has me up and moving at 3:45 a.m. But I did sleep for 7 hours.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful visit. Glad your journey was smooth.
ReplyDeleteHa! That's funny about enjoying hearing Southern English :) I hadn't thought of that, but I guess it's rare to come across, abroad :) Enjoy your time here!
ReplyDeleteThere are many varieties of Southern English. I like the accent in the Raleigh-Durham area.
DeleteWonderful, I hope your entire visit and return is as smooth and comfortable.
ReplyDeleteMy accent is filtered through NY and Argentina lol ... people can never figure out where I am from due to an accent they cannot place.
Enjoy your visit with your family . Ahead of schedule by more than i hour . You must have had good wind in that flight corridor .
ReplyDeleteI think there was a strong wind coming from the northeast with that snowstorm that went through New England, etc., yesterday.
DeleteYes, the wind in VA was enough to blow a car some and quite strong to walk in. One hour less in a plane is a real blessing as is an empty seat next to oneself.
DeleteWhat airline was this, Delta?
ReplyDeleteYes, Delta. I had an Air France ticket but the flight was operated by Delta.
