Several times recently Callie and I have run into these two women walking their little dogs out into the vineyard. It's all very friendly and Callie gets along with the dogs just fine. Here they are on the road next to our house.
The weather yesterday afternoon was so beautiful that it felt like late spring, not mid-winter. The temperature was close to 60ºF and the sun was shining.
The dog and I walked around the neighbors' property and I snapped a picture showing their house with ours in the background, on the left. The neighbors don't mind if I go onto their property. I keep an eye on the house to make sure nobody's bothered anything over there.
I saw irises blooming and heard bees buzzing yesterday. January! Way too warm.
ReplyDeleteOne of those two women in my first photo said the same thing: it's too warm.
DeleteWe are having the same kind of extremely up and down weather.
ReplyDeleteLovely setting in your photos-- it's nice that you know the neighbors and they trust you :)
We have the keys to the neighbors' house.
Deletedaffodils are way up, even see buds now....and some green leaves on hydrangeas, sad to say
ReplyDeleteYour plants are way ahead of ours.
DeleteIt was 14C here yesterday. Extraordinary! But significantly cooler today, and the forecast is for ghastly weather coming up over the next few days. Just when I have meetings in Loches and Blois...sigh...
ReplyDeleteMétéociel predicts some rain tomorrow and then a lot more on Saturday. No freezing temps any time soon though, and Friday doesn't look so bad.
DeleteGood weather here also. I like seeing photos of your hamlet. It looks like your neighbor has a barn door at the back of his house and a nice covered area for outdoor dining.
ReplyDeleteE., that big shuttered door is their bedroom/tv room. I think that end of the house was the barn/stables decades ago. And yes, they entertain friends and family outdoors all summer, either near or under the big-top tent, according to the weather.
DeleteHaving a neighbor like you is a gift. Knowing you can trust someone with watching over things or just being a good neighbor is so lovely.
