That would be devantures in French. After I climbed to the top of the Tours Saint-Jacques, I took a slow walk around the neighborhood around it, which is called Le Marais (the marsh or swamp). It was built on reclaimed land. It was and still is a Jewish quarter, and it is now also considered a gay quarter.
I remember Rudy Maxa (tourism tv and radio personality) going to Le Coude Fou :)

Esta and I had a good time in the Marais in '21. We found some delicious cheesecake there.
ReplyDeleteDanny and I had fun there one summer going to the bars. The crowds spilled out onto the narrow streets. Judy I'd had forgotten about Rudy Maxa. He had a pretty good show!
ReplyDeleteRue des Mauvais Garcons. I saw the antique street sign at the Musee Carnavalet. Took a picture and had it transferred onto a Canvas as wall art. My trademark?
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, great memories for all of us who love Paris.
