Laon : cathedral walk-through

Here's a last post (for now) featuring photos I took in Laon. I do hope to go back one day. I was thinking about CHM in this context. He was in his mid-80s — 86½, to be precise — when we took the trip to Senlis, Soissons, and Laon in June 2011. I'm not quite in my mid-70s right now, so I have time... assuming I can find a driver willing to take me there. Maybe by Sept. 5, 2035, driverless cars will be a reality.

  1. Yes, I was still “valide” then. Six year later, with my niece, I went from Grenoble to Bayeux, Amiens, Laon..., but I stayed in the car! I was then almost a semi-invalid with a combination walker/wheelchair. Now, I am a complete invalid. i haven’t been walking since last July!
Superb photos. I’m wondering what #3 could be.

    1. I wonder anout #3 too.

I'm still walking every day. Tasha is getting stronger day by day. It's hard to keep her from overdoing it. This week we are having nice warm weather that encourages us to get outside and start preparing the yard and garden for another growing season.

  2. I like the modern stained glass windows. I guess we just take life as it comes and be thankful that we got to experience France.

    1. We have had the great good fortune of spending so much time in France over the course of our lifetimes, haven't we? I'm so glad we all got to know each other all those years ago. Here's to our next meeting, in France or the U.S.

    2. I will always remember the day that I first saw you (Marie and Jean also) on the Francophile forum. Soon we were friends and then travel mates. We have experienced the miracle of computers in our lifetimes. Here's hoping we will meet up again!

    3. Yes, Evelyn. I don’t know what I would do without my iPad, Wifi and the Internet. Computers or the likes have changed the way we live, for good or worse, in a word, everything.
