Fluff

Can you tell what this white fluffy stuff is?
I took the picture on our gravel path out in the back yard.

Here's a clue.

It's a plant we've had growing out back for many years now.

  1. I was going to say thistle seeds but you would be rid of a thistle.

    1. What Tim and Madonna said — it's the thistle that we call an artichoke.

  3. Ken, which camera... you've got some lovely detail in the first picture?

    1. I took that first photo with the Lumix TZ60. That's the camera with the MOS sensor. It's not the one I use the most, which is the older TZ18 with the CCD sensor. I'm learning to use and appreciate the newer Lumix camera.

    1. That's right. It's the choke of an artichoke flower that stayed out all winter. I thought it was pretty.

  5. I agree with Tim, both pictures are really crisp. Lumix is a great brand.

    1. The first photo was the "new" Lumix, the TZ60. The second photo was the "old" camera, the TZ18. I'm glad to have both cameras.

  7. I didn't know for sure what it was but just looking at it made me want to sneeze :)

  8. My first reaction was "milkweed," and now I'm wondering if they're related.
