I was surprised to hear rain beating against the roof and windows when I woke up this morning. We haven't had any rain in so long that it had become an unfamiliar sound. The ground and garden really need the moisture at this point. Here, the weather pattern is feast or famine flood or drought.
The photos above are about a week old. It didn't rain that evening — it just threatened. We could see lightning off toward the west and south.
You have very dramatic skies in Saint Aignan, and you photograph them beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThe fungi foray in the forest of Preuilly yesterday was a fizzer because of the dry. We found very little, and nothing of exceptional interest.
ReplyDeleteSuch majestic clouds in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteWow, it must be a beautiful feeling to look out of your windows and see these sights. I know that there are rainy and gloomy days, and times when nature doesn't show off like this, but these are some beautiful shots :)
ReplyDeleteWhat Judith said! If I ever move, I want to have a view of sky like yours.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are lovely. I saw this today and thought of you and Walt and many friends who write: http://mic.com/articles/98348/science-shows-writers-have-a-serious-advantage-over-the-rest-of-us
ReplyDeleteThanks for that article, Ginny.
