Collar capers

I suddenly realized last night that Tasha didn't have her collar on. It's lost, and that includes the nice tag that Walt ordered and had engraved with Tasha's name and our phone number.

So I have to go looking for it this morning. We assume she lost tag and collar on one of her walks yesterday, so I'll re-walk those routes. Maybe I'll find it. Gives me a purpose for the day. Bon dimanche.

  1. Good luck with the search. Let's hope it is not une aiguille dans une botte de foin.

    1. It's exactly that: a needle in a haystack. I looked and found nothing. I tried to get Tasha to help, but she didn't find it either. Walt is still out there looking.

    2. Do try to have Tasha pray to saint Antoine de Padoue the collar and tag are found ASAP!

  2. Oh this is so annoying isn't it. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to re walk the route after one of our dogs has lost a tag or collar. Normally they were loosened when they had a good scratch at their neck.
I learned to check that the collar was fastened properly, and the tag intact before setting off. I do hope you find it.

  3. Well at least if some one else finds it, they know how to contact you.

  4. Oh heavens! Let's hope there will be a blog post updating us that you've found it, soon. Not being a dog owner, I would never have thought of that as a possibility--of a dog wearing her collar, and losing it. Crazy!

  5. Sheila, you are right. Our phone number is on the dog tag.

Judy and all, what happened was that during yesterday morning's outing with Walt, Tasha just disappeared for 10 to 15 minutes. He said he called and whistled all that time, and just when he had decided to come home and see if Tasha was standing at the back gate waiting to be let in, suddenly there she was, as frisky as ever.

We didn't notice until nearly bedtime that she had lost her collar. I think she had been hung on something by her collar on the morning walk and had finally figured out that she could slip her head out of the collar. But where was she all that time? Had she chased a deer into the woods? Mystère et boule de gomme, as we say.
