Because of the cold I caught on the flight from San Francisco to Paris, which was aggravated by the Mistral wind blowing a lot of pollen around, I lost two days of sightseeing and picture-taking in Provence in Sept. 2001. Walt and Sue went to Aix, Les Baux, le pont du Gard, and other places while I stayed in the gîte on Wednesday and Tuesday trying to recover.
On Friday, we went into Cavaillon to find a pharmacy and buy some sleeping pills, because none of us got much sleep on Sept. 11, 12, or 13. We were having nightmares, actually. We found a pharmacy and then had a quick look around in this market in Cavaillon.
Things we could have bought as souvenirs in one of the markets in Cavaillon. I don't remember if we bought anything.
Perhaps you bought a melon there. They are so good.
ReplyDeleteSue has been looking at the blog. She's enjoying the photos of Provence, because she wasn't using a digital camera yet and didn't take many photos. Walt was in the same situation, and he took pictures that are slides, and we don't have a projector. We have a scanner, however, but he hasn't yet scanned the Provence pictures. He said the other day that he's thinking about working on that soon. So Sue wrote to me and said she bought at least one piece of that Provence pottery in the Cavaillon market that day in Sept. 2001.
DeleteThose straw bags on the lower right look perfect for the beach. And I probably would have grabbed a pair of the espadrilles, they are so cheap!
ReplyDeleteOh, man, what a time.
