Afternoon views

Looking north out of the living room window Saturday afternoon... We were seeing nice blue skies and pretty clouds after Friday's rainy, windy, stormy weather. Yesterday was nice too. Today the high temperature is supposed to be around 20ºC (70ºF). We are looking forward to that.

Blue skies and high clouds. That's a plum tree on the right with the dark red leaves. The bare patch
where the big juniper bush used to live is starting to fill in with grass and other ground-cover plants.

The big cedar tree on the left above isn't really leaning like that. It's just an effect of the photo.

Many of the spindly trees in the wooded strip along the north edge of our property have died and fallen over in storms
in recent months. Nobody seems to be able to identify the person who owns that land.

  1. That's wild that no one knows who owns that land.

  2. That wild area is very good for wildlife, especially birds I think. Our weather has warmed up also. April seems chillier than usual here.

    1. I agree that the wooded and overgrown areas are good for wildlife. The problem here is that the trees are falling on our fence and damaging it. In theory, the owner of the property, whoever that is, is supposed to keep it cleaned up. We had a very nice afternoon today. I went out in shirt sleeves for a walk with Tasha at five o'clock.

  3. Maybe that land is an easement owned by the power company or such. Just a wild guess.

    1. The mayor thinks she knows who owns it, but she doesn't know how to contact the owner, or even if he's still living.
