Here's another long-zoom shot of the top of a steeple in Flanders.

    1. I just ate another wedge of the crépiau, with some Calvados apple brandy drizzled over it. Pretty good.

  2. This statue reminds me of Notre-Dame de Brébières in Albert not far from Cambrai.

  3. Back to Crépiot. It says crêpes, but it doesn’t say apples and I am just wondering if bananas, or any seasonal fruit, could be used instead? Thinly sliced babanas could be browned in butter and flambées au rhum before the batter is poured over them. Some more rum could be added to the batter as necessary. I wish I still could try that myself, as I tried with the clafoutis, but my cooking days are over.

  4. Oh, my goodness, that is an amazing photo, Ken!
I was glad to see Joanna's positive input, in the comments from yesterday, about dear Tasha's recovery prospects. She is young, really, Miss Tasha!
chm, I like this idea of trying other fruits in the crêpiot.

  5. Yes, remarkable photo when you consider the height at which it stands atop the bell tower of the cathedral Notre-Dame-de-Grâce in Cambrai. The Lumix were very good cameras.
