Yesterday was Callie's birthday. She would have turned 11 if she had made it this far. Today, meanwhile, is Natasha's birthday — her first. Here are three photos of one-year-old Tasha taken during recent walks in the vineyard. They weren't intentionally posed, and are blurrier than I might like.

Tasha's health is good. Mine is crummy right now. The cold is in my nose and in my chest. The soup we had for lunch yesterday didn't cure me.
Sorry to hear you are feeling crummy. I hope you are back on form soon.
ReplyDeleteNot too bad this afternoon. The mornings are worse. Nice to see the sun.
DeleteBut, I'll bet the soup was good!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Tasha!

It was good — pot au feu broth with diced up stew beef and all the vegetables (carrots, turnips potatoes, onions...). Today: pho.
DeleteMy husband swore by a hot steamy shower followed by a small glass of Port or if he really felt crappy, vodka. just a shot. then a nap :)
ReplyDeleteGood advice. How many showers can you take every day, and how many glasses or shots?
DeleteTasha is a beautiful furry creature. Lewis and I have brand new colds---misery loves company you know. Take care.
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful, and so well behaved! As for the colds, I seldom get them here. I must have caught it on the plane or train last week. Or at the supermarket. It's miserable but manageable.
DeleteHappy Birthday, Beautiful Tasha! I hope your cold goes away. Keep on eating soup and enjoying sunshine!
ReplyDeleteIt's too cold for me to go outside much.
DeleteHappy Birthday, Tasha. And for you and Walt, wishing you sweet memories of Callie as well.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the cold cure described in "NotesFromAbroad," and also prescribe additional soup.
Get well soon!
We are having soup in the form of Vietnamese pho for lunch. The steaming broth should be good for me.
DeleteTasha is a stunningly beautiful dog! Happy birthday to a pretty pup!
ReplyDeleteShe says ouah ouah back to you!
DeleteI didn't realise their birthdays were so close. Happy Birthday Tasha. And get well soon, Ken.
ReplyDeleteFunny coincidence, isn't it, that the two dogs were born on days so close together but 10 years apart.
DeleteHappy first birthday to that beautiful ball of fur, Tasha! And a salute to the memory of dear Callie. Doug & I were so fortunate to have met you all in that sweet spot where they were both alive. Get well soon, Ken.
