I took these pictures in 2007, when my sister came and visited Saint-Aignan. Talking to her over the past few days about the good time we had back then — we went to the Mont-Saint Michel and to Paris as well as the Loire Valley — inspired me to look at pictures we took during that trip. I think there are quite a few of them that I've never published before.
What could be better than to see a few photos of a Parisian pâtisserie! I'm seriously wishing I had any one of those lovely little yummies here to eat :)
ReplyDelete(p.s. I hope you're watching Dancing With the Stars to see Nadege's makeup handiwork!)
Sorry for the confusion about this post, Judy. Blogger seemed not to understand what time zone I'm in. Now here it is, and it saved your comment.
ReplyDeleteWho was it that said "I can resist everything except temptation" ? For me temptation is a French pâtisserie.
ReplyDeleteYou guys have to watch a little movie about Paris pastries. (Judy, I think I forwarded it to you). Check out March 22 of Virginia's bog http://paristhroughmylens.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteShe has a link to a "sweet" 2 mn movie.
(Judy, half on me was on TV yesterday. Generally when I see the camera I get out of the way).
Jean, so true!
ReplyDeleteNadege, I came across this video a while ago and watched it 2 or 3 times. I'm glad to hear she's doing more of the same. Also, thanks for introducing me to a new blog. (Yeah, I really needed one more must-see blog in my life.)
Was it Fauchon?
ReplyDeleteThose macarons are becoming popular here- my local paper ran an article about them last week. I think they are nice to look at since they are polka dotty and in so many colors.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how thoughts of Paris can pop into our minds at odd times. I'm always happy when I dream I'm in France, but hey you don't need to do that much now do you?;-)
I don't think it was Fauchon. I think it was on the rue St-Honoré.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, French pastries for breakfast. Now, if only I could figure out how to get them from the screen onto my plate...
ReplyDeleteYou'd be hard-pressed to find a better picture than these. Just read your whole series on why and when you guys made the move. We wish we could afford to make that move but c'est impossible maintenant.
ReplyDeleteCHM, I believe the pastry shop on the corner of rue Saint-Honoré and rue Royale is one of Ladurée's.
ReplyDeleteKen, since you said it was near the Madeleine church I assumed it was on the place de la Madeleine, where Fauchon, as well as Hédiard, is located. Never heard of Ladurée. Forty years is a long time!
