The pictures I've posted for the last three days were all taken on the same day, 31 January 2012. That was the beginning of the longest spell of really cold weather that we've had here in Saint-Aignan since we came to live here in 2003. It lasted about two weeks. For today, here are photos from the first half of February 2012.
It's unusual for Saint-Aignan to have freezing temperatures for so many days in a row.
I remember that cold spell. We thought being smart and high tailed it from the Charente to Marbella. Of course it was unseasonably cold there too.
ReplyDeleteIt was memorable. It's seldom that cold for such a long period — especially these last three or four years. Hope you're doing well. Are you getting rain is where you are, as coastal and mountain California is?
DeleteI decamped to my home town in Austria. California getting a lot of rain from what I hear and see on the news
DeleteKen, here in SoCal we have had continuous heavy rain for about three days. Streets are flooded, even in the city.
DeleteI've been watching all that on CNN. And yesterday afternoon I watched a Bay Area TV station for local coverage of the storms, flooding, and damage. I also call our friend in Auburn every few days to get her news and her take on the storms.
DeleteThat was a lot of snow of 5 February!

It was, and as soon as the snow ended, temperatures plummeted and we were in the deep freeze for a week or more.
