Scanning back through this blog, I see that we have had snowy weather here in Saint-Aignan more frequently than I remembered. The 2013 snow was one of the most significant, but the longest and coldest period of snow and ice was in 2012. Other years with snow were 2004, 2009, 2010, 2016 and 2018. It's interesting how mild our climate is, given that we are farther north than, say, Quebec City or Montreal in Canada. If climate change slows or stops the Gulf Stream flow of warm water across the Atlantic from Florida and the Carolinas, as some experts have said it might, winter weather in this part of Europe — maybe all of Europe — will likely turn much colder.
Snowy scenes are so pretty, and yours are no exception :)
ReplyDeleteWe hit 70° F yesterday (!!??) but we're back to the 30°s now.
The vineyards are so beautiful in the snow. Judy, that is quite a big range of temperatures!
