Looking up, mostly, at some the churches in the old city of Rouen. The writer Victor Hugo called Rouen la ville aux cent clochers in a poem published in 1831. Rouen is only 113 kilometers (about 70 miles) from Paris. That's a two-hour drive or a 90-minute train ride.
A year in Rouen gave you an everlasting taste of France. Being young in France is one of my favorite lifetime memories.
ReplyDeleteLooks like this could be an easy day trip or an overnight excursion from Paris on the trains. Same could be said for Amiens. Thanks for putting it on my radar Ken!
ReplyDeleteKen, how is everyone in your family faring with Helene? I know it's a different side of NC, but I assume there were struggles along the coast, everywhere?
ReplyDeleteNo news about storm damage near my home town on the North Carolina coast. My sister and our cousin run a food mission for people in need of groceries and other supplies. They are busy packing and finding ways to send stuff hto the western part of N.C.
