Lumix ZS1 photos [2]

I'm trying to decide which one of my old compact digital cameras I want to keep. Reader Mitch said he saved one of his old cameras for its zoom, which the current smartphone cameras can't match. Right now I'm leaning toward my Lumix ZS1, which has a 12x optical zoom. But I also have two Lumix ZS8 cameras, which have a 16x optial zoom. Now I'm going to have to go out and take some pictures with those.

By the way, yesterday, I did some research in my photo archives to see how many photos I took with the ZS1 camera after I bought it in 2010. In that year, I took about 7,750 photos with the ZS1. In 2011, I took more than 8,500 photos with it. And in 2012, I took more than 4,000. I bought the ZS8 that year and it became my go-to camera.

  1. Zooms, and batteries are two important considerations. The compact digital I kept has a 21x optical zoom. I have a couple of batteries for it, it recharges on a USB cable.

    1. I have quite a few batteries and chargers. I guess I should check amazon.fr and see if batteries are available for the camera or cameras I might want to keep. I have a Panasonic camera with a 30x optical zoom, but it's tricky to use and I might just have to let it go.

    1. The baby spider plants were "children" I cut off a bigger plant last fall. I planted them in pots and left them in the greenhouse all winter and they did well. Now I have the decide what the next step is...

    2. I'd let them fill up that window sill pot - and hang over the balcony rail. That is if they can take full sun.

How has your vision been since the cataract surgery? Doing well, I hope!

    1. I feel like my vision has stabilized at this point. For a few months after the second cataract surgery in September, I periodically had headaches that I think were related to the operation, but those seem to have gone away now. And I can see clearly. And yes, that first picture a couple of days ago was a dandelion flower.
