These are some photos I took on this date in 2011 using the oldest digital camera I still own: a Panasonic Lumix ZS1. It was good for macro shots (close-ups) and has a 12x optical zoom. I bought it in 2010. I'm not even sure why I've kept it all these years.

This past week with very little rain (but still some) is helping to dry everything out a little bit. Maybe I should take my Lumix ZS1 compact camera out on my walk with Tasha this morning and take some pictures with it. For old times' sake...
Ken.... "Everything having to do with flowering plants is happening later this year.".... that is very interesting....
ReplyDeleteBecause here, everything is coming out early by about three weeks....
And, it might be worth taking a set of pictures of say five subjects with each camera and your 'phone and compare the results one to the other... the photomanaging software I use [FastStone] allows me to compare four different images at the same time... I find that function possibly the most useful tool in there.
But doing that would let you know if your "new" Sony is being "beaten" by the quality of your 'phone, or one of the Panasonics.... or it is just an optical illusion brought about by the alogrithm.
And...
"The ground is too mushy to till or to mow over there, just as it is here. We've had an invasion of moles, so you have to be careful where you step when you go outdoors or you might break a leg or your neck".....
is the same as here.... there is 2/3rds of our meadow that I still cannot access either because it is still underwater!!
Fortunately the main veg area is on a slope.....
I've pretty much decided that I'm just going to take the old cameras, along with two or three mini-PCsthat I have ended up owning, to the Emmaüs people over in Romorantin. Maybe somebody will buy them and the money will go to the needy.
DeleteGood idea, Ken. Your mother and sister have done a lot for the needy. You really enjoyed those cameras. I liked mine, too- you helped me choose them.
DeleteEvery time Ken bought a new camera, I bought the same one. I trusted his research.

I compare the start of the spring blooming every year... just by chance, because I usually post a few photos on Facebook, as the daffodils and tulips come in, and the photos come up in "memories" on FB. Over the years, I've seen spring blossoming start anywhere within about a 3-week period.
ReplyDeleteThose closeups are great, with that Panasonic Lumix, Ken! That first yellow one (is that a dandelion?) with the little critter... that's fantastic. Is it easy enough to get the photos from the camera, onto the computer?
No problem getting photos from camera onto computer.
DeleteSure, take more pictures with your older camera! Enjoyed seeing all these flowers.
