Yesterday between four abd five o'clock in the afternoon it was 42 ebrees Celsius in the greenhouse. That's 107.6 degrees F. All the plants in there are dead. It was hot all day, starting especially around noon. I've got all the windows in the hoouse open this morning, to let in some relatively cool air. All this, and it's not even close to being summer yet.
Well I feel bad for the plants. I hope they are able to recover with some time and water. I feel bad for you too.
ReplyDeleteI saw that it hit 105 degrees in Portugal yesterday. A record there. Here weather has gone the other way. Palm Springs, which should be in the 100s now was in the low 70s and down to the 50s at night. Unpredictability is the new norm.
Here in New England, we're expecting snow in upper elevations tomorrow morning. Some towns here reached 32C yesterday. It may it 10C here tomorrow with high winds w/ tree damage.
ReplyDeleteBob, stay safe. I need to send you an e-mail with more info. about my plans for mid-June.
DeleteHere in Alabama the weather is normal but rainy- good for my zinnias and sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so sorry to hear about the plants... anything that you had been nurturing for a long time?
ReplyDeleteHoping you can keep relatively cool.
It was 7C chez nous outside of Boston this morning with a wind chill of 3C. Our friend CC in Paris reported 34C, the latest in a long string of 30+C days. But of course according to some there is no climate change. Such is the legacy we leave for our children/grandchildren.
