Well, the weather forecasts were right. It's raining today. Yesterday morning I went out and took some more pictures. The weather was chilly but beautiful — especially the skies, but also the leaves on the ground as well as those that are still on trees or vines. This photo shows a linden tree (called a lime tree in Europe) on the left and two apple trees (on the right) in our back yard.

What is the little red ball in the middle of the picture?
ReplyDeleteTook me a minute to find that. I'm gonna throw out a guess that it's a rose hip - the red fruit, sitting at the end of a bare branch.
DeleteLoving all the colors since of autumn is, well, just 10 degrees cooler than summer and it all kind of looks the same, and a little brown.
Joanna and Diogenes, I think that is a rose hip. The roses on that bush are pink, not red. I'll go look at it up close in a few minutes when I take the dog out for her walk.
