This is not a greenhouse

It's our front porch. It faces east, so that it gets morning sunlight but not the harsh, hot afternoon sun. I've taken a dozen or so potted plants out of it so that I could do a good cleaning job on it. I put them out under our carport where they won't get direct sunlight.. Next, I'll take a similar number of plants out of the greenhouse, which is at the back door of the house, and put them in here while I move all the furniture and junk out of the greenhouse and give it a good cleaning. Maybe I'll finish the job by Bastille Day, July 14.

These blue campanule (bellflowers) have been growing next to the front door since who knows when. At least since 2003, because they were there when we came to live here in June that year.

  1. You have so many great spaces in your house, and around your house, and you both work hard at keeping them in beautiful condition.

The bellflowers are very welcoming at your front entrance! I had then previously written how the hanging basket would add color to your terrace. I went back to reread your comment today, but I couldn't see anything about the hanging basket (I thought I must have been dreaming!). But then I reread yesterday's comment and realized I hadn't been mistaken! I hate to say it, but I have been second-guessing myself more lately than ever before. If I lived nearby, I would ask for a cutting. I have always admired bellflowers but they have never been in any of my gardens. Now, I have to deal with deer - so plants have to be odorous to be deer proof or deer resistant. No bellflowers for me at present.
