Mont-Saint-Michel details (2)

It's raining again today, as it rained for much of the day yesterday. We've started doing spring cleaning in the house because it's too wet to do anything outside, even though it's not especially cold. Today I'm getting my Covid19 booster shot at the pharmacy. Walt got his a week or two ago and had no strong reaction to it.

Tomorrow morning early I'll be going to pick up a lamb roast — un gigot d'agneau — that the butcher is de-boning, rolling up into a log shape, and tying with string for us. We'll cook it tomorrow for our Thanksgiving dinner, along with escargots as an appetizer, sides of brussels sprouts and, flageolet beans, and for dessert a pumpkin pie made by Walt. I hope you all have good Thanksgiving days and dinners.

  2. I bet your lamb will be delicious. We're having turkey down the street at Cathy and Michael's house. I'm making a caramel cake and cranberry relish. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Walt.

  5. We have missed the rain, but we are having 32 degree temperatures in the morning hours - tomorrow even at 9 am. Happy Thanksgiving everyone - I shared a lunch with my daughter yesterday for our celebration and then she will spend the day with her father up in Portland and I have a standing invitation to share dinner with neighbors (8 at the table!). I just have to take a bottle of wine. I have been trying various french blush wines. This year I bought La Vielle Ferme blush. Your dinner sounds devine, Ken. I'm sure Walt's pumpkin pie will be tasty as well!
