Walt was attacked by a stray goat yesterday. He's okay. It all ended well. The man who accidentally left the goat to roam free along our road got the goat re-confined after about an hour. I think Walt is writing about the enounter this morning.
We might get some snow today. It's early for now here. It has already started in Paris, and it is moving southward. We don't know yet if it will get as far south as Saint-Aignan. I'll let you know tomorrow.
I'm glad to hear that Walt is OK. Angels fascinate me and so does Jeanne d'Arc.
ReplyDeleteI guess I had no idea a goat would be that aggressive. I would have gone over and tried to pet it. Which wouldn't have ended well, no doubt. Glad Walt was not seriously hurt. But - you have a great story to tell at happy hour now, whether in the States or in France!
ReplyDeleteAfter Walt heals it will become a funny story. Many years ago I heard the expression, “Tragedy plus time equals comedy.”

This goat was not a cute little kid, it was, we think, a big, aggressive male (un bouc) with major horns. By the time I got downstairs Walt was trying to get the beast out on the street and not in our yard. It took both of us to hold him at bay and get the front gate closed before we let him go. I'd say he was close in size and just a aggressive as a boar (sanglier).
DeleteIt was not my intention to make light of the attack. Sorry if it came across that way.

I love the photos, Ken, and I'm rushing over to read Walt's account of the goat encounter... now, just read it... holy cow! I'm so glad he is okay.
