Home again, home again...

It's 6:00 p.m. on March 4 and I've been back at home for close to an hour! The sun came out for my arrival, things are greening up, and the rivers (Loire and Cher) are blue and sparkling. We drove through Vouvray, Amboise, Montrichard, and Mareuil on the way back from the TGV station in Tours.

It's B-day -1. Officially, mind you, I don't turn 60 until 9:15 p.m. tomorrow night. So I still have a good 24 hours of the fabulous 50s left in me.

  5. Glad to hear you made it back in one piece. It's such a relief to sleep in one's own bed again, isn't it. Enjoy what's left of your 50's!

  6. Thanks, y'all. We are watching the old videos that I transferred to DVD over the past two weeks. And having a glass of Vouvray -- but not sparkling. It's the demi-sec stuff from 2006.

I'm sure I will soon collapse. When I wake up, my birthday will be nigher than it is nigh now.

  18. I won't call you all out individually, but I really do appreciate the birthday thoughts. There's something satisfying about having a nice round number like 60 as my age. It's all in the mind...
